A CHINA GLOBAL COATINGS SHOW! |
|
The first decade of the 21st century
saw China move into second place in the world when it overtook Japan
in coatings output. This happened in 2002 and now it is within
striking distance of dislodging USA from the number one position
before the end of this decade. Having pioneered a unique model of
economic development using indigenous raw materials and skill, China
is now ideally poised to expand and dominate the global coatings
industry.
The economic downturn in 2008 has
adversely affected worldwide production, which the coatings industry
cannot escape from. However, measures have been taken to diminish
the effects in many countries. In China, the central government has
just allocated RMB¥100 billion to be used in infrastructure, which
will consequently bring up demands in architectural, automobile and
other industrial functional coatings. At the same time, measures
have also been implemented to turn surplus of production from export
to domestic demands. These will support the continuous growth of the
coating industries in China.
Fierce competitions will force
enterprises to seek for more cost-effective methods and materials to
optimize their productions, and to improve their product quality in
order to ensure their profit margins and market shares. This
enterprise upgrading trend will be accompanied by the know-how
improvement to be considered vigorously by enterprises. Thus, the
coating industries should still think positively to further develop
and consolidate their business in the China market.
Including the top ten, there are over
50 sizable foreign coatings manufacturers operating in China. With a
population of over 1.4 billion, this vast (4.5 million tons worth
US$11.6 billion) coatings user market represents a challenge and
opportunity both for the local market participants and the rest of
the world seeking to expand and diversify their business.
The CHINACOAT series of Exhibitions
has become the industry's most prestigious and popular event. Every
November, the pulse of the global coatings industry beats in
Shanghai or Guangzhou! CHINACOAT 2009 will be held in China's most
important cosmopolitan city of Shanghai. Over 24,000 visitors from
31 countries attended the last show held here in 2007. Come to
Shanghai and expand your business in one easy step.

SHANGHAI -
DRAGONHEAD OF
YANGTZE RIVER DELTA |
|
|
• Yangtze River Delta (YRD), one of
China's three leading city clusters, has been receiving much
investment from the China government and foreign investors. One of
the huge projects is the World Expo to be held in Shanghai in 2010.
• The YRD engages in heavy industry
such as steel, OEM, electrical equipments, marine, automobile,
chemicals and other upstream industries while light industry,
including motorcycle, bicycles, electrical appliances,
refrigerators, washing machines, furniture, lighting,
telecommunication equipments, decorative materials, metal products,
also exists in this region. This is the key development and
manufacturing base for premium products.
• In the first three quarters of 2007,
YRD contributed over 37% of the country's total import and export
value, close to 22.5% of China's GDP.
