Accompanying CHINACOAT2008, a technical Conference on "Woodcoatings: Formulating for a Sustainable Future" was held two days prior to the opening of the show. A total of 14 papers were presented with 125 delegates coming from 14 countries/regions attending the conference.

During the course of the 3-days show, two Workshops on Coating and Ink Formulation were organized:

1. "Formulation of High Value-added Speciality Coatings and Inks"

2. "Nano-technology for Coatings and Inks"

These 2 half-day courses were attended by 122 industry professionals.

Technical Seminar was a pupular programme for most CHINACOAT visitors. This year, a total of 40 of technical seminars were held.

Technology Corner, has provided a direct platform for visitors and exhibitors for technology exchange. The themes this year included 'Hybrid Resin' & 'UV Curing Coating and Inks', and a total of 7 sessions were held.

The organizer this year invited trade professionals from 'Australia' and 'Japan' to give presentations on the coating developments of their countries, as well as to give insights on the latest market trends, challenge and opportunities facing these two countries.
