  • Expand and maintain your market share in today’s challenging economic time — CHINACOAT strives to create more value for exhibitors and to ensure their business objectives are met.

2. China & Asia Pacific region continue to be the primary stimulator of robust growth for the global coatings market

  • During Jan-Nov, 2014, the coatings output of China already totalled 14.87 million tons, an increase of 8.05%, and has exceeded the annual output of 13.03 million tons in 2013, reflecting the Chinese coatings market still has great potential for further growth.

  • Asia Pacific region will remain the world's leading consumer of coatings through 2015. It is anticipated to account for almost half of global industry demand by 2015, indicating why international players continue to increase their presence in the region.

  • Regional demand will continue to be fueled by China and India, the two largest markets in Asia and two of the fastest-growing coatings markets in the world. Japan will also contribute to demand in the region, benefitting from healthy growth in residential construction spending. Other major markets driving growth in the region include Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, Taiwan region and Singapore.

  • The huge potential for coatings in the region is also signified by the increased levels of income and education, continuous urbanization and industrialization, and the low per capita consumption of coatings.

  • Moreover, the increasingly stringent environmental regulations, intensifying market competition, continuous innovation in formulation, technology and product development collectively promote market growth.

3. The Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region is an important region for China's coatings industry

  • The YRD region is the largest and fastest growing economic zone in China, accounting for 18% of the country’s GDP. In the first three quarters of 2014, the GDP of the YRD region amounted to 7,500 billion yuan. The average growth rate is 8.9%, which is 1.5% more than the national average over the same period.

  • As China's largest comprehensive industrial base, the YRD region is the cluster for a variety of industries, including machinery, electrical appliances, electronics, chemicals, transportation equipment manufacturing, metal products, etc. The growth of these end-user segments promotes the sustainable development of the coatings industry in the region.

  • Shanghai is an international financial, trade and shipping centre, as well as the leading city of the YRD region. Most international and domestic paint manufacturers have already established their operations here.
