HOFFMANN MINERAL is a German manufacturer of anatural mineral filler, named Neuburg Siliceous Earth, which is a combination of corpuscular Neuburg Silica and lamellar kaolinite: a loose mixture impossible to separate by physical methods. As a result of natural aging, the silica portion exhibits a round grain shape and consists of aggregated primary particles of about 200 nm diameter. Such a unique structure is responsible fora relatively high specific surface area and oil absorption, which result,besides rheological activity, also in a whole range of application properties.

Our calcined products Silfit and Aktifit are based on the standard product Sillitin Z 86. A thermal process is used to expel the crystalline water in the kaolinite portion and new mineral phases are formed practically amorphous. The silica portion remains inert at the temperature used. The resulting products have an outstandingly high degree of white and color neutrality.

Gloxil bright is a calcined kaolin that offers special functional advantages as a filler. This treatment enhances the chemical purity as well as the thermal stability of the material, resulting in excellent optical and functional properties such as brightness, opacity, and light scattering. Our Gloxil bright products deliver similar results in application as the Aktifit and Silfit products.

The Gloxil light product range combines density reduction with functional silanization, offering tailored solutions for a variety of applications. Through the wide selection of 3M hollow glass spheres,which we can individually and specifically functionalize, the Gloxil light product line not only achieves weight and volume cost reduction in the final product but also meets additional requirements.

The powder product is a matting agent based on silica gel, modified with a special additive. This improves the incorporation of matting agent particles during the film formation of the dispersion. Gloxilmatt is only available for the European market. Gloxil matt SL is a 15% aqueous Gloxil matt dispersion.
